Volunteer Opportunities:
If you're local and can offer help on an ongoing basis we can sure
use it!
Training, grooming, & care are all necessary to keep the horses
happy and healthy. Please understand that volunteering at a one
of the farms housing Equihab horses isn't a way for someone to get
free riding on a horse. Some horses are not rideable, but all horses
need fed & cared for.
If you're not local, please consider our long-distance
volunteer options.
One of the hardest parts in caring for the horses is funding the funds
to cover the feed, hay, vet, and farrier expenses. Anything you can
do to raise funds would help the horses immensely!
We also can use a few hours donation from professionals. Can you donate
your services?
- occasional legal advice from an attorney
- a CPA in Maryland
- a contractor such as a fencing installer
- a vet willing to do some pro bono work to help out horses in need
If you're local and can only help out once or twice a year....
please consider helping us man a booth or at an event. It may also get
you free admission!
And for those of you wanting to help who aren't local, you can still
help. Someone with good communication skills can promote the horses
in the program through press releases, mailing list messages, and posts
on online forums. We can use help proofreading.
If you have spare time, you can help by spreading the world in your
own home town.
Those under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all
times.
You may be asked to sign a waiver if you'll be doing anything with
or near the horses. Be aware any horse can bite, kick, or knock down
a person. Always wear proper footwear, and never ride without a helmet.
