Meet S'mores, the 4-5 year old small pony. He arrived needing costly cryptorchid surgery, and his situation was so complicated that our large vet clinic referred us to New Bolton.

His surgery was a success, and he spent two weeks in a stall to allow time for the stitches to heal. The veterinary surgeon had to make a small incision in his flank (hence the shaved square in one of his photos). This allowed them to use their scope to look inside and locate the missing testicle.

The surgery was important not only so he could be safety turned out with mares but because the hormones were making him into a bit of a handful. As the saying goes, a good stallion is a GREAT gelding.

He now resides on a private 9 acre farm near North East, Maryland.
