Dear caring horse person,
The summer of 2007 had an unusually bad growing season for hay. We
are also still in severe drought conditions. What is normally green
pasture is brown, thin grass and dust.

This means:
- We were feeding hay sooner because pastures were not growing.
- We will be spending more money that budgeted because we're feeding
hay more weeks out of the year.
- Suppliers are out or almost out already, when normally they have
hay for sale through the winter.
And that means to the horses:
- We need to make a big push now to raise what we can before all local
suppliers are out. The longer we wait, the more it'll cost.
- And we need to budget for the expected big increase in calls
regarding owners needing help finding hay, complaints of starving
horses, and neglect related to the hay crisis. We expect a spike in
owners who ask us to take their horses because the owner can not longer
feed him/her.
Your role:
To help us raise the funds we need to feed our horses and the expected
increase in influx through this winter. If you can't donate cash, we
also accept donated items.
We can also use your help at our events, since most of our events have
the potential to generate profit or donations which in turn goes back
into the program.
Please consider donating $10, $25, $50, or $100 towards the hay fund.
Or just to go PayPal and pick any amount you'd like by clicking the
