Trail Horses Foster Homes Rehab Working Together

When you cannot afford to have your horse euthanized:

Equihab will cover all of the expenses with euthanasia & disposal of any horse if an owner is unable to afford it. It is done locally. The horse isn't hauled more than 30 minutes from our office. The person doing it is a professional. Then we also pay for a licensed removal service.

Sending a horse to slaughter should never be forced on anyone.

Nobody should feel forced to take their horse to slaughter if he needs to be euthanized.

We understand sometimes the best owners fall on hard times, lose their job, or have some other financial crisis. Everyone has bad luck sometimes.

We recognize what a hard choice this is to make, and we respect your decision. We just don't want any horses suffering because an owner didn't have the funds that day to pay for this important service.

Just call us. We will not argue with you.

We understand what a difficult decision this is: 443-466-4087

peaceful endings

You can drop off your horse any day of the week. When you contact us, we will give you the address to drop him/her off at. Please do NOT bring horse to our office in North East.

Do be aware that you will have to sign the horse over to us in order for Equihab to legally be able to order euthanasia. One benefit of donating ownership of the horse is that we can provide you with a receipt, and you may be eligible for a tax deduction.

In the best interest of the horses; we reserve the right not to euthanize a horse who has a reasonable chance of treatment or adoption. An independent licensed vet will be hired to make this determination.
