Trail Horses Foster Homes Rehab Working Together

Our story begins with two good friends and their mutual love for horses...

Both women were around horses daily and saw ways they could help these beautiful animals. Somehow a few special horses in need found them.

"Once you realize how wonderful a rescued horse can be, it becomes a passion to want to help another one."

After years of informally trying to help horses where we could, in 2006 we made it official by aquiring our 501(c)3 non-profit status. The Equihab Foundation, Ltd. was formed and filed for federal non-profit status. Approval was promptly given, opening the door to so many opportunities.

We grew to three Board members, adding the wisdom of another long-time horse owner & trainer. Add to that several dedicated core members, and an amazing group of volunteers. We're now an powerful entity that will be serving the community for years to come.

hayFundraising makes all of this possiblehay

Without donations & grants we can't afford to do any of this. It takes cash to buy hay or provide vet care. Our current fundraising programs are online, and we announce fundraising events on our adopt-a-horse list.

We need you!

Our program also need volunteers. For those of you not local to the area, consider remotely volunteering via the internet.

Who is Equihab?

We have a small but very active Board of Directors who talk several times a week. All Board members are hands-on and foster, retrain, or show horses.

At the present time, all workers and Board members do so on a volunteer basis. Because we have no paid employees, a larger percentage of your donation goes direct to the horses.

Be aware that Equihab receives no government funding. We rely solely on donations, grants, and adoption fee to make this program possible. Please consider donating!

Our office is located in the town of North East in Cecil County, Maryland, which is about halfway between Baltimore & Philadelphia and just minutes from I-95. The horses are housed in several farms in and around Cecil County, most only a few miles from each other.
